– Dr. Seuss
In today's issue, we'll take a look at:
Did You Know?
True or false? 90% of Gen Z shoppers are open to buying secondhand.

Put It On The (Recycled) Plastic
Wave goodbye to your old credit cards and say hello to a greener future! Mastercard, HSBC and TerraCycle are joining forces in an awesome display of eco-conscious collaboration. They're rolling out a pilot program that lets you drop off your expired or unwanted credit cards at select HSBC branches for recycling. Imagine that—your old card transformed into something new instead of ending up in a landfill!

Here’s the deal: these cards are shredded and stripped of their chips for security, then whisked away to TerraCycle, the wizards of recycling the unrecyclable. There, your former cards are reborn as pellets and powders, ready to live a second life in new products!

With billions of payment cards out there, mostly made of hard-to-recycle PVC, this initiative is a game-changer. Mastercard is dreaming big, envisioning a world where all plastic cards can be recycled with ease. Plus, they’re not stopping at recycling; by 2028, they plan to craft all new cards from sustainable materials! They’re also championing digital payments to reduce plastic use even more.

We can support this eco-initiative by finding drop-offs near us and recycling our cards! Together, we can pave the way for a sustainable future, one card at a time!
What Is Eco-Shaming and Does It Work?
Have you ever heard of eco-shaming? It doesn’t sound nice, but we promise it’s not all bad! It's that nudge (or sometimes, a strong push) pointing out when we or others could be more planet-friendly. With climate awareness on the rise, eco-shaming is making waves, especially on social media. But here's the million-dollar question: does calling out help us do better, or does it just bring us down?

As we navigate through environmental challenges, from floods to wildfires, it's clear that caring for our planet is becoming a priority for many, especially the younger generations. With this increased vigilance, eco-shaming is becoming a common sight online, targeting everyone from everyday folks to big corporations for not being green enough. But let's pause and ponder—does eco-shaming actually work? Sure, when big companies get called out, like Nestle did over their palm oil sourcing, big changes can happen. Nestle revamped their policies big time after a Greenpeace campaign highlighted the issue. That was a perfect example of positive eco-shaming!

However, when it comes to individuals, the story shifts. Eco-shaming might lead to feelings of tiredness or even disinterest in environmental efforts. It's crucial to remember that blaming individuals for the climate crisis might not be the best approach. After all, we're all on this journey together, and guilt-tripping isn't the most effective motivator.

So, what's the better route? When it comes to individuals, patience, empathy and leading by example are the way to go. Changing habits takes time, and it's more about inspiring than criticizing. When it comes to corporations, however, eco-shaming and calling companies out for their actions can be the push that leads to change.
These New Gummies Keep Selling Out...
If you've ever struggled to enjoy cannabis due to the harshness of smoking or vaping, you're not alone. That’s why these new cannabis gummies caught our eye.

Mood's gummies are formulated to tap into the human body’s endocannabinoid system to provide relief.

Although this system was discovered in the 1990’s, farmers and scientists at Mood were among the first to figure out how to tap into it with cannabis gummies. Just 1 of their rapid onset THC gummies can get you feeling right within 5 min!

Thanks to Mood for sponsoring The Canopy.
